Minister V Sivankutty Launches “Samagra Plus” Portal by KITE*l

As part of the curriculum reform initiative General Education Minister V Sivankutty today inaugurated the revised version of the ‘Samagra’ portal, named ‘Samagra Plus’, at the Government Higher Secondary School, Elamakkara, Ernakulam. Samagra Plus, an initiative of the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), is designed to create a new digital learning experience for classes 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, based on the new textbooks. Minister highlighted that Samagra Plus will revolutionize public education in the state

.A key feature of Samagra Plus is the ‘Learning Room Room’ which caters to both teachers and students. It helps teachers with the classroom learning process while enabling children to practice self-assessment and self-learning. The activities and digital resources within Samagra Plus are designed to be parent-friendly, allowing them to support their children’s learning journey.

Teachers will have access to a variety of activities in their login that are aligned with the learning objectives. These supporting resources in the portal include images, audio, video, presentations, interactive resources and worksheets. It also equips teachers with indicators for continuous evaluation and support for students. They can access resources for follow-up learning activities. Question banks is the another new feature in the portal.

Children will benefit from short videos available in their study room that break down learning objectives into concepts delivered in an activity-oriented manner. “Digital resources for the first lessons of class 9 are available on the Samagra Plus portal starting today”, said K Anvar Sadath, CEO, KITE. Resources for other classes will be completed by this month. The portal provides access to all textbooks from classes 1 to 12.

T.J. Vinod MLA, Cochin Mayor Adv. M. Anilkumar and Director of General Education S. Shanavas IAS are also attended the function. ‘Samagra Plus’ is designed to supplement the Hi-Tech School projects, which aims to provide ICT-enabled learning environments in all government & aided schools in the state by KITE. The portal can be accessed at www.samagra.kite.kerala.gov.in.
